Venus Fashion is an American Clothing brand that was created by Daryle Scott in 1984. Initially, the brand sold women’s activewear, exercise apparel, and leotards. The company saw early growth, largely on account of advertising campaigns in popular women’s magazines, like Cosmopolitan and others. In 1985, the brand expanded its horizons and added women’s swimwear & bikinis to its retail lineup, at which point it became known as Venus Swimwear.
In 1999 company acquired WinterSilks, and large importer of silk clothing. The brand expanded its retail once again, now offering women’s clothing as well, thus changing the name to simply Venus. In 2006, the majority of the brand was Acquired by Golden Gate Capital. In 2009, the retail, importing, and manufacturing trio were merged under a singular name: Venus Holdings LLC, which was later acquired by Bon Prix, a German catalog company and subsidiary of Otto.
Today the brand is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL and continues to sell women’s clothing, swimsuits, activewear, and continues to expand its departments; now offering lingerie, sleepwear, loungewear, shoes, accessories, jewelry and more. The brand offers inclusive sizing, even partitioning a section of the website exclusively for Plus Size shoppers. The brand offers a vast catalog of items and a vast variety of styles.
